Magnolia Days

Come sit with me and watch magnolias bloom
their pink flowers fresh against the spring blue sky.
Come eat with me, my fresh-baked quiche consume;
if you wash up then I will gladly dry.
Come walk with me where sea lochs lap the shore
and sonnets speak to us beneath the trees.
Come dance with me across the kitchen floor,
mix tango salsa with the melted cheese.
Come live with me, dovetail your dreams with mine -
deep-rooted love sings forth from quiet earth.
Come marry me, lift high the fizzy wine
and toast - then celebrate for all we're worth.
Touch hand to hand and let the music play
to lift and launch us on our wedded way.
